Highlighting the need to support startups to increase Business Friendliness, The Quezon City Government, through its new program, Startup QC, brought together various stakeholders of the Startup Ecosystem at the Quezon City City Hall last October 28, Friday, to host its grand launch.
The Startup QC Program aims to provide funding for early-stage startups that have promising and viable products or services ready for execution.
Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte reiterated that startups need a good environment to flourish and succeed. She emphasized the importance of having government, academe, and industry work with one another to facilitate a healthy business environment for budding entrepreneurs.
“In order to grow, the startup community needs the right environment, it doesn’t happen by chance, let alone sprout overnight. It needs to be cultivated with a regular amount of care and support. It is an ecosystem of many stakeholders from government, private sector, and academe all acting interdependently and working together towards a common goal: to nurture entrepreneurs. “
Representatives from DICT, the QC LGU, DTI, University of the Philippines, Miriam College, the John Gokongwei School of Management, Launch Garage, Thames International, The Ateneo de Manila University, and the Technological Institute of the Philippines sat down together to ceremoniously sign a Memorandum of Understanding that hopes to strengthen the commitment and partnerships among the concerned offices.
Quezon City has consistently offered innovative ways at which businesses can easily claim their services.
