DICT SCALE 2023 Startup Ecosystem Reports and Roadmaps Released
Published: March 6, 2024
As mandated by the Republic Act No. 11337 or the Innovative Startup Act of 2019, the Philippine Startup Development Program (PSDP) aims to support and foster the growth of the country’s startup ecosystem through a diverse range of initiatives, benefits, and incentives.
The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), as one of its lead implementing agencies, strengthens efforts and support services through the Digital Startup Development and Acceleration Program (DSDAP) of the ICT Industry Development Bureau (IIDB).
With the growing need to monitor and track the nation’s startup ecosystem, the Startup Community and Locale Enhancement (SCALE) project under the DSDAP was implemented across the country. SCALE, through its collaborative, multisectoral, and participatory data-gathering, aims to provide baseline information on locales’ startup ecosystems, as well as available resources and initiatives for startups.
With a well-represented set of participants — including members of the local government units, the academe, national government agencies, startup founders, enablers, and other key ecosystem players — SCALE continuously ensures a people-centered and needs-based approach to conducting appropriate intervention programs for startup communities.
For 2023, ten (10) locations were successfully mapped in close coordination with DICT Regional Offices. To view the SCALE 2023 full mapping reports and roadmaps, click the following link:
